Flying to Zanzibar

Here's our dynamic duo at the Moshi airport.  Martin, their missionary buddy from town dropped us off.  We will fly to Zanzibar on a small plane, which was at full capacity with 13 passengers on board and one pilot.

Here's some pics showing the diverse country that Tanzania is.  Lush and tropical while arid and rugged at the same time.

As we get closer to the coast there are a few rivers making their way to the sea...
We did have one stop to pick up two passengers at the Pangani airport.  This is the departure terminal, the arrival terminal, security, baggage handling and shops!  I didn't get a picture, but as we were parked a young man we loaded, a young guy went biking by on the runway.

Below is the grass runway.   I think we were on the ground about 5 minutes total...and then off to Zanzibar!!

Left:  Coast of Zanzibar
Right:  A mosque in Stone Town, the capital.  Also, a soccer stadium....it's not baseball, but oh, well....Below, sunset from the place we stayed the first night.  Sun sets about 6:30 every night of the year....
